Question Mold Smell

First, there is no water buildup inside my car like the common problem where it's under the carpet.

Also, I keep my car's interior CLEAN. Out of the blue, since about 2 weeks ago, the inside smells like mold/mildew. I cleaned out the inside REALLY good, sprayed Lysol inside the on the carpets, took off that plastic screen under the wipers, cleaned out the 5-6 leaves under there, vacuumed and cleaned that out and it still stinks. When the A/C is on, it's hardly noticeable, but when it's off, the stench is pretty prominent. If you've ever corrected something like this, shoot me a few pointers. There's no water intrusion whatsoever, or anything out of the ordinary as far as I can tell.

Dunno, maybe pull the blower motor/fan and see if there's anything in the air box? Is the AC condensate draining under the car with it running? Maybe it's clogged. Just a couple ideas...

With the ac on I sprayed frebreeze into the grille by the wipers.
The smell can come from mold on the evaporator inside the heater box. Worked like a charm on my convertible.

This is a known problem with our cars where mildew builds up in the collector basin in the cars. This normally happens when running the AC on MAX for long periods of time, and then letting the car sit immediately after for long periods of time. Moisture builds up in there and has no where to go when the car is off, so mold forms. A couple ways to fix this problem is to turn your AC off and just leave the vent blowing outside air into the car shortly before turning the car off. There is another option where people drill a hole in the plastic intake box and spraying some type of bacteria killer in there like Lysol of Hydrogen Peroxide.
Maybe this will help.
