window/switch problem

HI guys I just got my 1999 Z28. I'm having a prob with the drivers side window. The switch was broken when I got the car so I replaced it but it still isn't working. When I push down it does nothing but when I push up I hear this strange squeak/squeel from under the dash. I bought a new motor but b4 I change it I wanted to run it by you guys. Thanks

Probably the express down module. Only thing I can think of off the top of my head that would be under the dash that would make any noise. Search for shoeboxs site and it'll have a diagram of where to find it. It'll be right up under the drivers side to the right of the pedals. The retained accessory power module is up there close to it as well, just cant remember at this second which one is which. should be a cheap salvage yard fix. Does your passenger window work ok?

Heres the link http://shbox.com/1/express_down1.jpg Get down in the floor and reach up to hit the window button and see if thats where it sounds like your squeak is coming from. If not, let us know and one of us will try to help more.

Yes the passenger works great actually. I was surprised by how quickly it moves. I'll check out that module later today.
