well i noticed that when i shut my drivers door some time i here like a bang some times , So I pulled of the door panel , and inside the door laying in the bottom of the door was the broken circulir spring ? are these big springs even known for braking . how do i go about replacing it . whats it there for ?


also on a off-topuc question whats the part numer for the outher wheater stripping for the window . ( You know at the top of the door and bottom of the window on the outside of the car . Thanks

 

The window regulator spring assist the motor in closing the heavy window.
I have not heard of a generic problem with these springs.
You need to look closely at the window reg. mechanism and see if some other failed part caused the spring to come off or brake.
I know you can buy the "regulator assembly". But not if you can get the spring alone, dought it.
I would replace the entire assembly, that way I know I have any hidden problem taken care of.

 

how hard would it be to repace the whole regulator ? about how much do they cost ?

 

I "think" it was around $125.00 for the reg. and motor assem. It's not much worse then just the motor. For me it's the same, as I always remove the reg. when I do the motor anyway.
