Window Problems

Before we undertake a window motor removal, we need to have the window in the full up position...right?
Since it quit in the 3/4 down position I need to gently raise the window without breaking it.
Any tips on how to do this.
Thanks.

well, if there is any life left in the motor gently pull up on the glass while pushing the button.

Thanks but we tried that first, the motor clicks and grunts and we measured about a 2 volt drop (which seems a bit low for "locked rotor current") when the switch is depressed but there is no movement from the motor. I'd like to determine if the window mechanism is bound up before I spring for a new motor.

Ok... took the old motor out with no problem except that the works were so gummed up the window didn't move. Got that fixed, put the new motor in and all is well. One problem down, 1,816 more to go.
