Window Motor

My buddy has a 1995 Camero with the V6 and his drivers side window motor is dead. I found a post on here about how to replace it (doesnt seem that bad) but the thing is it went out on him while the window was down. What I want to know is if there is a trick to just getting the window up for now until I can fix the motor. Plus it looks like it will be a whole lot easier witht he window up to begin with.(I dont know if you can even do it at all with it down) Rain and windows down dont mix well. Thanks.

Re: Window Motor

i think once the inside door panel is off, you can raise and lower the window by hand.

you may have to remove the motor partially or fully first.

sometimes you have to play with the window, pull up on it, or just close it an inch at a time (inbetween it stopping) till it's closed.

other thanthat...can't think of a way to get it up.

Re: Window Motor

You've tried pulling the window up while pressing the switch right? Sometimes it will go up then.

Re: Window Motor

you can clamp the window in place and then try to get the old motor out. Once its out then the window will be able to go up freely.
