Why does it take so long to boost my Firebird?
Why does it take so long to boost my Firebird?
Whenever I try to boost my 'bird it takes forever... even if I disconnect the battery or switch batteries. Is it because I'm always using a small car to boost it? Does that make a difference?
Just asking because I'm sitting here waiting for my Cavalier to boost my 'bird... I'm thinkin it'll take a good 45 mins

The one variable I hadn't looked at... and that I suspect now that I've looked closer is crappy booster cables, I think they have too much corrosion on them.

2 possiblities, slow/low charge rate(could be lower output from the boosting vehicle, or corrosion on your cables) or, the deader your battery is, the longer it will take, I.E., if you need 400 amps to start, and the batt only has 300, you only need 100 to start it, but if your batt only has 100, you get the picture
