Who can help with an A/C Problem?
I need to add R-134 to my 2000 SS. In my '89 Camaro, I would pull the low pressure switch off of the accumulator and jump the terminals which would get the compressor spinning so I could suck in the R-12. On the 2000 SS, I can't find a low pressure switch anywhere on the low pressure side of the system. In these newer GM vehicles, what shuts off the 12V to the compressor when the R-134 charge is too low? How can I get the compressor spinning to add R-134?
Re: Who can help with an A/C Problem?
When I added R-134 to my truck when the compressor was not spinning the pressure in the can was enough to send the refigerant in until the compressor had enough pressure to start spinniing and suck the rest in.
Re: Who can help with an A/C Problem?
the n e wer ones use a transducer(sensor), not a pressure switch, so just hook the can up, if the pressure there is not enough, you will need to jump the relay

it should be pinned like this
- <---jump this one
l-l
l <---to this one
- -
- - if it is like this, jump them diaganally, if one way doesn't work, try the other 2 pins
