White faced guages...'95 Z28

Gents,
Bought a '95 z28 a while back and it's a small project of mine...I've been trying to return it to original trim pretty much...it has white faced gauges in it that I can't stand. Are these difficult to remove?

Thanks for any comments.

ooo, man, i dunno if they r different and maybe people have had better luck than me, but i think u gotta pull the needles to take it off

i know when i had my first z28 i had to pull them to put the whit overlay on, and well, my gauges never worked right after that.

just be careful if you attempt it. are they the factory or aftermarket cluster?

They are aftermarket jobs...I think they look like crap. Other than screwing up the guages, am I better off getting another instrument cluster with around the same mileage and replacing it? I've got a good mech here...I think I'll take it to him and see what he says...

Can you cut slits in the overlay, near the needles, so you can peel the overlay off in pieces, without pulling the needles off the gauges?
