Whine from rearend while braking and turning

When I go to turn into my parking spot there is a whine coming from what sounds like the diff. It only happens when I am turning sharply and braking at the same time. Any ideas? I know the seal on the pinion needs to be replaced, could this be the culprit?

Is it possible the axle is moving in and out of the housing, causing the brake pad wear tab to scrape on the rotor?

In the past, I'd have a whine coming from the rearend while turning. This was due to the differential fluid being worn out. Changed the fluid along with some additive, and got rid of the sound.

That's not necessarily what you're dealing with, just an idea.

I don't know about a whine, but lack of limited slip additive can cause some very weird noises from the rear that are most evident during slow, tight turns (when rear wheel speeds are the most skewed L to R). If you have a pinion seal leak, your lube level may be low as well. Might be a good idea to check it.

My Z was having the same issue, pretty much how shoebox described during slow, tight turns it whould make a whining noise. I changed the fluid and added GM's additive and it went away completely. Good luck!
