Where to get German castrol.

I was searching around at local auto stores like Advance, O'reileys, NAPA, and Walmart and i cant find the German made Castrol so i went with Mobil 1 0w-40 synthetic. On the Castrol will it say Made in Germany on the back cause all the ones ive seen say Made in USA.

And also while i was at Advance some guy said that all the oils are the same and they just come from 2 different suppliers. I of coarse didnt listen to him like i always do. I just try to get in and out. I only go there if i have to because this particular store has mostly ricers working there and they have gatherings there also, and they dont know what they are talking about.

Check Autozone and PepBoys. It will say "Made In Germany" on the back.

I dont think we have any pepboys around here but they are building an Autozone across the street from Advance.

I would like to switch to German Castrol in the future if i can find it.

i hate how auto stores have dumbass's work there. They should hire smart people then I would actually go there for help. The last time I went there I go to the parts counter and tell the guy "96 firebird 350" and then he proceeds to ask me the engine size. wtf

If they hired smart people, they'd have to pay them more.

Re: Where to get German castrol.

This stuff is harder and harder to find. Recently Ive found some stuff that is made in the USA, but bottled like the german stuff (the german stuff has a large green star/sprite on front). It too is the odd green color. Might want to try to find it. I found it at autozone.

Here is a post I made awhile ago detailing the packaging differences.

Re: Where to get German castrol.

What is the differanc between the oil made in germany and the US? I just had an issue with the valvoline 10w30 that I us broke down and I lost neerly all my oil pressure in a matter of 1000mile! Im looking for a better oil to use. Ive never really done much oil research, but after this incident I am doing my homework to same my motor.

Re: Where to get German castrol.

Do a search on the screen name "patman". He did a lot of oil testing a couple years ago, and found the German-made Castrol to outperform other oils, based on used oil analysis.

Here's a site with everything you wanted to know about oil, but were afraid to ask.

I got it at Auto Zone just recently. They don't carry it in the PepBoys in my area.
