Wheel bearing?

When I turn left, I hear a noise. It's hard to describe, other than to say it sounds like a bearing is on its way out. The harder I turn, the louder it is. Sounds like it's coming from the front right corner of the car.

I'm guessing wheel bearing.

Are there any other things it might be? How hard is it to replace a wheel bearing on these cars? I have a decent set of tools at home, includng an impact wrench and a couple floor jacks. Does it require a spring compressor? I don't have one of those, and I know I would have needed one to do the wheel bearing on our Bonneville (had to do that a couple months ago).

What should I expect to pay for a replacement? There aren't any aftermarket upgrades for wheel bearings, are there?

Talking about my '02 Z28, BTW.

You have to replace the whole wheel hub and it will be over $100. You just have to remove the brake and rotor, then unbolt the hub. It's pretty easy.

I have a couple used ones if you'd like to buy one pretty cheap, I have them from when I upgraded my brakes to 98+, they are the same size hubs for 93-97. PM me if you're interested and we can work something out.

Thanks, I'm not really sure how that slipped lol, the first day I put the 98+ brakes on, one of the hubs went out, and I had to use the one from my old spindles in a steak and shake parking lot around midnightish with VERY limited tools.

How many miles on them?

I found a new one at Auto Value for $165. Still need to check NAPA and AutoZone.

Shoebox -- thanks. On the Bonneville, you couldn't access the bolts that hold the hub to the knuckle without removing the knuckle from the car. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case on the Camaro.

If the original owner didn't replace them before I got the car at 95k, then they would have about 110k on them. I would say 10 bucks plus shipping?

If mine is worn out at 75k, then I'd say it's probably foolish of me to buy your used parts. I'd just end up replacing it again soon anyway. Thanks for the offer, though.
