Re: Whats missing from this picture?

I'd assume it would be considered the console insert or the shifter insert. I'd personally just get rid of that console and get a 97-02 console. Since you're messing with a Bird it would be a direct bolt in too.

Re: Whats missing from this picture?

You could probably just get the parts from a junkyard.

Re: Whats missing from this picture?

I spent about 20 minutes googling it and according to fbodymotorsports.com, the part has been discontinued. ...it did cost $69.99. But if you have $254 you can get a newer style console, brand new. Or find a junk yard with a 6-spd bird.

Re: Whats missing from this picture?

and just to make it 4 posts in a row...

does anyone know if a 5-speed shift plate will work? I assume something is different since they are still available through GM, but I don't see why they would need to change the design of it between a 5 speed and 6 speed.

Re: Whats missing from this picture?

I broke the plastic retaining clip (the piece on the side in your pic) a year ago and bought a new boot/clip assembly from the local dealer. It ran about $30 if I remember correctly.

Also, it looks like you are the missing the rubber inserts for the cupholder and completely-useless-weird-rectangular-compartment in front of the cupholder. I wouldn't know where else to look for them other than the dealer.

Also, can't tell from the pic but there is supposed to be a removable metal coinholder...err...ashtray that lives under the hinged compartmet in front of the completeley-useless-wierd-rectagular-compartment.

Re: Whats missing from this picture?

Its complete, except for the random useless pieces mentioned above. The only thing that covers the hole for the shift lever is the fake leather boot, which wraps around the plastic ring that you already have.
