I saw this car around a few times and it was my favorite.The front of it said SS and the car was white with red stripe's.Was this car from the factory or were the stripes just painted on by a body shop.I think this Camaro was between a 98-02.I don't expect to see one for sale in this exact color but if I get it painted I would like it to be like the one I saw.Was this white carm painted with red stripes only 1 or 2 year's because I rarely see them around??? Maybe it was a rare LS1 SS Camaro.

 

They did a special edition LT-1 camaro in 1997 that was white with red-orange stripes from the factory, did the car you saw have the 1998+ rounded front end?

 

I forget if the front end was rounded like a 98+ Camaro.I never had any interest in these cars till just lately.The car looked really good but the LT-1 Motor is no LS1 motor.That particular car always stood out from the other 95-02 camaro's.I guess all the LS1 Camaro's didn't have any stripe's like that 97 edition?? I didn't know they had an LT1 motor'd Camaro called an SS pre 98??

 

The first SS 4th gen was in 96. The only 4th gens to come from the factory were 97, with the 30th anniversary package, and 02, with the 35th anniversary package. The 97s came white with orange stripes, and the 02s came red with silver checkered stripes and a black accented hood scoop.

 

Then I guess the Camaro I saw was the 96 SS.If Im understanding you right.So the 97 Camaro didn't have the white paint with the red or orange stripes?? I can't imagine a 02 Camaro Red with silver checkered stripe's with a black accented hood scoop.I don't think I ever saw one.

 

The '97SS Anniversary package had the stripes. No stripes on the '96 SS.

 

thanks,looks like the LS1 camaro's don't look good with the stripes because most guys don't add them..It keeps it looking low profile though and thats kind of what I want.

 

Yeah man, you can easily, pick up a 98-02 Z and throw stripes on it. You could even get SS badges and the SS spoiler if you wanted to.
