If you do a "Search", all you seem to find are SLP LS1 "test mules" and parts development cars that they called "Ultra-Z".

http://www.slponline.com/projcar.asp

http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicl...aro/index.html

I remember the SLP customer appreciation meets at Englishtown, and they always had one of these cars making passes - at least until they opened the cut-outs and got thrown off the track, because Englishtown requires mufflers . SLP in Toms River NJ is just like any performance shop... if you give them your car and enough money, they would build you whatever you wanted, and call it whatever you wanted to call it. There were numerous cars locally sporting the chrome plastic "SLP" badges that they included in the "goody bag" at the customer appreciation events. Mine is stuck on my tool box.

I can't find any reference to an LT1 car ever being called an Ultra-Z, except for the hood.

Much ado about nothing.......

Here's another guy claiming to have one. Is it just a copy of what he thought it should be?

Article in Hot rod clearly states the Ultra-Z SLP offered had Tubular Equal length headers. After reading what the heads were I would never buy they were stock manifolds.
