I need some help here. Couple of months ago I bought a 2" VFN cowl induction hood for my 1995 z28. Well, now wish I would have bought the 4" instead of the 2.

Would you just go ahead and have the 2" put on and painted, or would you order a 4"???!!!!!

I wish I had gotton the 4"....GRRRRRRR.

 

Up to you, but I personally think the cowl should fit what is under the hood. I dont care for cars with 6" cowls and a 305 stock underneath. Just doesnt seem practical

 

Good point. Do you think the 2" cowl will show up good, after it's been painted. By the way my z28 is purple.

 

Definatly... a 2" would be perfect IMO.. I don't like big cowels. But the odd time I do see a nice 2-3 inch and I love it.

 

If you don't like the size don't paint it. Its alot easier to sell a hood that hasn't been painted then it is to sell a purple one. I agree with outlaw, cowels on stock cars are kinda lame.

 

Thanks guys. I've decided to keep the 2" cowl, and get it painted. And maybe add some racing stripes too.

What mods do you have done to you're car ? if it's pretty much stock or has a few bolt on's then stay with the 2". If you have alot of mods and you're an 11 sec. car or close to that then don't paint the hood and sell it and go with the 4" that you really like. If you plan on doing alot of mods in the near future that will drop you to a low e.t. then just go ahead and get the 4". I personally like the 2" that follows the lines of the car alot better. But it's you're car and you're decision. Do what makes you happy.

 

Yea, because on my car it is basically stock, but oce I put in my 396 and some other mods a may get a 2 1/2 incher
