what does this switch do

I looked through the manual, and I tried searching but i couldnt find anything. It doesnt seem to do anything that i can notice..

and also there's a red light on the center console that i think might be for the ebrake, but i havent wanted to try the brake out and have it stick on, so just wondering about that too.

Maybe its a manual Fan switch? somebody definetly put that there. OR It locks the front breaks for you so you can do better burn outs? Maybe even an exhaust cut out switch?

I can't tell from the picture, Is it a momentary switch or a normal switch?

If you have a 94Z with an auto transmission and it is a momentary switch, then it may be the performance shift button.

That's not stock. It could be for anything.

^ +1

Reach around behind and pop that plate out (or pull the console if your hands are too big) and follow the wires. Maybe it's a switch for batmobile mode...

haha it might be a batmobile switch...

It's kind of got three positions, what i would call "off", "arm", "on". its just a regular switch between off and arm, but then its momentary between arm and on. if that makes any sense.

the previous owner tells me this "The switch, I think, is a circuit breaker for the power outlet." So i'm gonna go pop the panel out and take a look at the wires and i'm going to plug something in to see if thats true.

it doesnt effect the lighter operation whatsoever, so thats out.

the wiring goes right into the stock harness which makes it really look factory, or someone did a very nice wiring job.

That's the flux capacitor switch.

You may have to follow the wiring to see what the switch controls.

Does the switch have any effect on the red indicator light you mentioned earlier?
Could be...

Less likely

I can't find a working link to the performance shift button, but if you have the motor running and hit the momentary switch and the red light turns on, then it may be set up as the performance shift button.

Follow the wires back and see where they lead. They did do a nice wiring job, though.

i also just found that it has a clifford alarm system, but i have no manual and the remote is dead. the previous owner said he didnt ever use it.
After some searching i found several models it could be because the remote looks like the top one on this page link

its just hard to follow the wiring because it really looks factory. maybe a closer inspection will yield results.
