what do 2nd gens weight and removal ?

just got a 1980 camaro bracket car. it is barely streetable at the moment and i probably will not put it on the street, so race only. it's stripped of a lot of stuff already, but looking to lighten it up more.

how much do these 2nd generation f-body's weigh... say a stock car, 350 motor. looking for an idea of baseline weight.

it's a 400 small block with turbo 350. i have no clue what my car weighs now. so far i know this has been done:

no Power brakes
doors lightened (not sure how exactly other than obvious no armrests)
4" cowl hood, fiberglass
weld draglite wheels, front skinnies
partially gutted dash
no heater core
no ac
no radio, no speakers
sure there's a bunch more little stuff here and there
no console

i do not want to buy lexan right now. i don't think i saw any bumper supports front or back, not sure what was there stock anyway.

definitely removing all the seats and replacing with two racing seats. probably the summit poly seats with covers.. anyone have those, what do you think? how much do all the stock 2nd gen seats weigh?

going to pull all the carpet out and just paint it black inside

will probably remove wipers and motor since they hit the cowl anyway.

will probably leave headliner, how much could that weigh?

not looking to spend money right now to make it lighter, just freebies or cheap stuff.

how about the dash, what could that weigh? who sells aluminum dashes or do people just fab their own? couldn't see any on summit racing's site.

thanks for any help.

just came across this old post of mine after 2.5 yrs. for reference, i weighed my 1980 drag car last yr and she weighs 2950 lbs (without driver). so, 400 small block, th350 tranny w/ 8" converter and JW Ultra bell, one kirkey aluminum drivers seat, 6 point roll cage, subframe connectors, stock 10 bolt rear, NO carpet, NO other seats, NO side crash beams, NO front bumper support, NO rear bumper support, 5 lb fuel cell, NO stock tank, FULL OEM glass all around, fiberglass 4" cowl hood, stock driveshaft, heavy universal d/s safety loop, NO heater core or air assemblies, NO wipers, NO wiper motor, NO inner fenders, NO radio or speakers, NO plastic interior panels, FULL headliner, smaller hood springs, that's about it. IIRC that's about 400 lbs shed but some amount added back to it.
