What did I burn out?

Well I was wiring some door panel LEDS and noticed they were not turning out. Switch the wires and the turned on. SO I go finish the work and turn the them on again to see if they are wired right before I soilder them. Well I switch the wires and they do not come on, so I switched the wires again and nothing. I then noticed that none of the other lights are going on when I turn the lights on If I turn the headlight switch to on, all the lights in the car are off. I checked the dimmer and it was all the way up. I turn off the switch to the headlights and all the gauges and my radio work again. I took off the LED and nothing still. Did I burn out a fuse or something more serious then that?? The LED were made to be in a car so I had the resistor built in and everything. I am going to get a fuse for the IP Dimmer which is the one I think I need. I pulled it out of the fuse box and the little circuit thing in the middle was broke. Could that be me problem? Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Replace that fuse and if it blows again, you're drawing too much current through it with the LEDs. Try the next higher amperage fuse and see if that holds. But don't blame me if stuff starts smoldering!

Whew, it was just a fuse. The thing I don't get is that the LED was working fine on the driver's side. The LED itself I got from autozone and was made to go in cars. The were just those accent type LED's. Would switching wires while the switch was on caused it to blow? Thanks

Yeah, it probably shorted out for a sec when you were changing the wires around. Best to shut the power off when ya do that. Glad it was a simple fix.
