My engine just threw a rod. How much could I get out of selling it. Just had the rearend replaced and the tranny is fine. There is a pic in my signature of the car. Premium package so has leather and all that. Everything is in really good condition.

You'd get more out of it if it wasn't winter.

 

It would be a lot of work, but you could part the car out. Might actually make out better. Between here and ebay you would do just fine.

 

A blown engine will torpedo the value of a otherwise good car. I buy 5-8k cars all the time for 1-2k because they have bad engines or trannys. Unless your willing to sell it for $1000-1500 I would recomend you either part it out or put a salvage motor in it and sell it.

Frankly, it might be cheaper just to find a used LT1 in good condition and have dropped in. Otherwise, you are going to take a pretty hefty loss. I would guess you might be able to get around 2500 bucks as it stands right now.
