Lets just say the car has more than just go fast parts on it. Trust me, like your car, soon it will be supercharged, and I am quite sure it will be a tad bit faster then.

Re: weight reduction

Salad shooters = 20lbs

Most aftermarket replicas - usually 23-30lbs

I think it's the O.E. ZR1s that are notoriously heavy.

Not to mention salad shooters are 16"... so all that weight is concentrated closer to the axles so they won't take as much effort to turn.

Re: weight reduction

The a/c and heating system are a ton of weight. Ive heard if you take all that out as well as the piping, you can get close to 100lbs in savings. Other things, convert to manual windows and non-powered seats.

Re: weight reduction

PLEASE post on the correct forum. "weight reduction" doesn't belong on "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech". Moving to "General F-Body Tech & Info"....

It took several years, and yes it is quite a bit. Trust me, if someone had a check for the amount I have in it, I would take the check and run. At the same time this obsession is almost like a disease, I can't help but to put a little more here and there into it. I am sure I am not the only one on this forum who is alone on being addicted to speed and their car.

Injuneer, I do have a question for you. I like your headunit delete plate and I checked your site hoping to find instructions. Do you happen to know where I can find a write-up on it or is it just as simple as shaping and painting a piece of sheet metal?

Its a thin aluminum plate, cut out slightly larger than the opening, and drilled so it can be mounted using the stock head unit bolts. It takes shims of various thicknesses behind the bolts to get it flush with the surround. Its painted with Eastwood "graphite" vinyl paint (which matches perfectly - it just looks odd in the picture from reducing the photo size significantly).
