wearing tires

just curious as to how fast tires wear after a few burnouts. this question came about after a buddy and myself got a rental and did some burnin' and wondered how long they wear after using them like that. thanks!

it all depends. I had a new set that after 3 burnout they were down to the wear-bars....But I really like to do big smokey burnouts

It probably depends on the tire composite as well. I have a hard set of tires that have shown minimal wear after being subjected to several burnouts. If I had some softer rubber on their, I'm sure they would wear out alot quicker.

I hear somewhere that you can take off about 2000 miles on a set of tires for every average burnout you do... Average meaning, once they start smoking and you pull away.

Again, AVERAGE depends on the driver, the tires, and the size of the wallet.. My wallet is skinny, so I do rolling spins... I haven't smoked my tires in two years. I did two good burnouts on those tires and they still had good life left. (Toyo Proxes 4, my old tires)
