Vert top not going all the way down

I posted about this in a previous thread. Since it's a new topic, I decided to to start a new thread. I don't know jack s**t about verts and now I'm pissed at my purchase. Basically the car has a new aftermarket top, I'm going to call the shop to see if they replaced the frame and/or the cover. The top doesn't seat al the way down. There is a support bar in the top. When closed this bar is about 2-3" forward of the seatbelts. Thus hitting the trim panels. I thought this was normal, but I was wrong.

So here is a link to an album, if anyone needs more pics to help me, please describe what you need to see.

I hope the link worked, it's my first time using shutterfly.

What I need to know is, how to I fix this so It folds down flat? Is there a way to remove this bar, relocate it, adjust it, whatever.

Thanks guys. If anyone around here is local I'll buy you a month's supply of beer to fix this. (PHX, AZ)

That link doesnt work for me, i signed up and still nothing. Photobucket.com is a good host that you might want to try, or get a link that works to your current site.

Try this one. It's supposed to be an online album.

Its hard to say from pictures what the problem is but i have 2 guesses.
Maybe the headliner is not attatched to the top properly and is not folding right, if thats the only part that catches on the seat belt holders.
Another problem could be the cabels, i was told there are 2 different lengths, 23" for base camaros and 29" for Z28s, if they got changed with the new top you could have the wrong ones. But you cant really find out with out taking the top off so that would be the last thing to check.
Since my car is in storage i cant look at it for a refrence but i can on sunday, ill take a few pictures so that we can better pinpoint the problem.

Well there is a support bar that goes from across the top. This hits the upper trim piece about 2-3 inches in front of the seatbelts. Do you think getting a different lenght of cable would move this back somehow? The actually headliner doesn't seem to be hitting. Either way it's driving me mad. But thanks for the help and getting me the pics.

Heres all the pictures i took, http://www.esnips.com/web/gtbiker13top . My top sits a bit on the seat belt holders too. I think youre just not holding the button down long enough for the top to pull in. Try putting it down again and fit the boot on, if it fits then your top is fine.

Hmm. I'm holding the button down all the way, it just won't go down farther. I'll highlight the bar that is hitting. There is literally a support bar in the top that is 3 inches forward of the rear seat and sits on the trim panel. It can't go down any more because of it. The only thing I can think of is that the new top that is fitted to this is for a different year. Maybe the shop used a 3rd gen or an ls1 vert top and it doesn't fit right.

I took a vid of it. I can email it to anyone who knows how to post one. Otherwise can someone give me an idea of how to get it on the board? Thanks

something is not folding right. the support bar that is hitting should be under the headliner
