turn signal click sound

The turn signal "click" sound is constantly on whether I am using my turn signals or not. The signals themselves only light when I move the signal stalk , but the clicking is constant. I guess I can rule out a flasher, but what else could it be?

Question Weird !

The "clicking noise" is actually casued by the flasher relay, which is a little round silver plug in unit located ( in the old days ) to the left of the steering clumn under the dash.

That would be my suspicion as the switch in the column just activates the electrical side of the flashers as far as left or right - the relay causes the turn signals to blink.

I would not have thought it was under constant power, though, like a horn relay would be.

Once again, shoebox's excelelnt site to the rescue

Specifically, here : http://shbox.com/1/flashers.jpg

Hope this helps , and Thanks, SHOEBOX !!!
