I have a 2002 Z28. How the heck can I turn the headlights off at night while parked with the engine idling? Do I have to reprogram the computer? Is it even possible?

Very frustrating. Help please.

 

On my Grand Prix, if I set the parking brake before starting the car, the headlights will stay off. Might be the same for you.

shoebox, is right, that works. you can also set the parking brake after the car is running, but it'll take a few minutes to turn off. i jumped the pins like the link posted by bobdec said, and its working fine for me.

 

you think that will work for a 97z?

 

shorting the pins in the DRL module? as far as i'm aware, its the exact same module, so it should.

Just pull your hand brake up one click and it wont come on

 

only works if you do that before starting the engine. if you park and try to turn the lights off, you have to wait before they go off.
