Guys I just ordered a Camshaft (comp cam 305-8) from jegs. It should arrive by tomorrow afternoon.

Just a few questions, has anybody installed this cam without tuning the car?? I'm a newbie so I'm still trying to understand why I have to tune the computer. ???

So my question for the people in Cali. is if you guys know of a place here in Cali where I can go and have the car tuned??? & how much, average price??

well, you need to tune to get maximum gains and best economy/emissions(same reason, least amount of fuel for quality burn)
all the tables inm the stock tune are for the stock engine, change anything, and a custom tune can help, but mainly only needed with major items that effect air/fuel mixture(injectors,cam, heads, bore/stroke)


in cali, I would say yes, It needs a tune, I highly doubt you have a chance to pass emissions any other way
