Trunk Release Issues on 95 Z28

My trunk release button, both the button in the glove box and on the key fob actuate the trunk release but it won't stay actuated long enough to open the trunk. So unless you are standing pulling up on the trunk lid at the same time as you are pushing the button the lid doesn't open.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

You need to replace the shocks for the hatch. that is the reason it will not open after you pop the release.

The shocks have no problem holding the lid up, but you think they are to weak to pop the trunk lid up. Thanks I will try that.

Car may look like new, but those hatch shocks are 13 yrs old and they DO NOT get better with age. A good set will pop that hatch wide open without any help. My opinion
