Traction Control
not true bro. I have a system in my car that is part of the rear end with the reluctor ring etc that cuts power when the wheels spin. it kills launches. it sucks for performance. I do not have a black mess on my valve cover at all. but I have the system. how do I wire a switch to this system that no one seems to know the real name of. I want to shut it off sometimes, maybe even shut off the abs sometimes. can't find wiring diagrams for switches for these. my saturn has a switch in it for this. why not my damn camaro???

at this thread. No TCS switch, or the module, You dont have traction control. My SS doesnt have it, but if I pull the bezel out, the wires are there. When I replaced my bezel, I got one with the TCS switch, and I even plugged it up, but guess what.....there still wasnt traction control. And I dont get a low trac light when my tires spin.
guess what that all sounds pretty fancy but I do get a low trac light and I dont have a button and the car is fully apart. it never had a button. I have seen the car since new. I did a center console conversion. there is no button. in the wire diagram the wiring for the performance button actually SPECIFICALLY says: to performance/traction control program switch.. I dont have a switch.. it says that wire is light blue. there are other things for the solenoid etc... I dont know what to look for in the car. Does anyone have a 95 trans am WITH the button to look at for reference
?
?
I have a 95 Formula that has some kind of sensors on all 4 wheels, I think the front ones are for anti-skid cause I hit a bump and had to change the LF hub to get the light out. I don't know what the sensors are on the rear near the discs, the only button I can see is (performance mode). I had the trans modified to be more aggressive and the shop told me to disable the TC if I was to do a burnout, I never could find what they were talking about, I have no switch on the dash. I will look on the Lt VC tomorrow for the box someone described, also will look for the mysterious blue wire . Danny Mc
You're the one that isn't listening
Is the reluctor ring on the carrier in the rear end? If it is, that's 100% proof that your car does not have traction control. The ONLY cars that have the reluctor ring on the carrier are the ABS ONLY cars. The cars with traction control have a reluctor ring and sensor on the end of each axle.
Does your car have "NW9" on the build code tag? If not, the factory did not put the TCS system in it. But then what does the factory know about building cars?
ALL..... repeat ALL..... one more time - ALL 4th Gens have a light on the dash that indicates "LOW TRAC". If your car does not have TCS, that indicates that your ABS has activated.
If your engine loses power on a hard launch, you need a tune-up.

My buddy's '96 TA does have TCS. I believe the switch is on the center console, behind the shifter
(it's an auto). THAT'S where you need to look for the switch (it's just a small, square-ish push button).
BUT, I have this feeling your car DOESN'T have TCS!!
Have you confirmed whether you have wires going to the center of the diff housing, or to both axle ends?? You did say:
1) hydraulics to the rear end ... do you mean the brake lines to either caliper? That's for brake fluid
.
2) the reluctor ring IN the rear end??
If that's the case, you have A.B.S. ... Anti-lock Braking System ... and nothing more:. Not trying to be an a$$, just being honest!

Gee, I should have read this thread before the other one about TCS. You are very confused. ABS also has nothing to do with engine power or slowing the car by any means. It only monitors wheel speed and modulates the brake pressure when needed during braking only. Disabling it buys you nothing in performance.
You have a bogging issue. Maybe a bad knock sensor, maybe your opti, or whatever else, its not your ABS or a non-existent TCS you dont have. I dont understand how you are this lost about it and cant figure this out, and certified of some sort
what do you think I am here figuring out retard? I know more then before I posted the first messege. some people give good advice... some dont. it's all good HOMIE that is what a messege board is for. Asking questions. Not feeling cool or boosting your ego. go out and have a drink.

Im at work, no drinking on the job
Again, you have 2 threads going on and your being told all the same stuff, and yet you still thing we are all wrong. You're arguing with some of the best people this place has to offer. You're the hard headed one. (idiot)
And why would I take a psychology course? (rhetorical question)(idiot)
