I'm going to say this one more time. ALL LS1 f-bodies that have traction control (TCS/ASR) have a switch to turn it off/on. If you have one with no switch you do NOT have traction control.

The ABS can still illuminate a warning that you have low traction but that's all it does.

Look under the hood!! If you have 2 cables going directly to your throttle-body - 1 being the throttle cable, the other being for cruise control - and they come straight from the back of the motor, you DON'T have TCS/ASR.

If you have that big goofy black box mounted on the passenger's side, sorta behind the battery, with cables running to/from the TB, then you DO have TCS/ASR!!

If I could find pictures, I'd post, but I think if you look under the hood you'll know what I'm talking about?!

there is the module i believe...or at least part of it

as for the other things that could make you think you have TCS....

broken trans mount
wheel hop
torque arm bushing
slipping clutch

some are easy to look into.

or the fact that when the tires spin in the rain the engine cuts out until the wheels rotation slow down, the hydraulics going to my rear end and the reluctor ring etc that was in my rear end when I did it over. I have traction control, there used to be threads and posts about how to disable it all over the place and I CAN"T FIND ANY OF THEM ANY MORE!!! WTF!!!!

No button = no TCS...... and I never saw a thread contradicting that.

ok so how do you disable the system that cuts power to the engine when the rear wheels slip. If it isn't called traction control then what is it called and how do I disable it in my 95 camaro? I honestly don't care what it is called as long as I can disable it when I want to. There is no button to disable it. the only button in my center console is the convertible button and there are defog and that stuff but no traction control button. There are all kinds of wires hanging around and there is some sort of system that robs me of power that needs to have a button wired to it. What do I do?

Again it is a 95 LT1 not an LS1. they are definately different. I read multiple threads about firebirds have a traction button and camaros not having it but having the wires for it. this was a couple of years ago . on this forum and Maybe thirdgen.org but not talking about a third gen since none of those had these systems at all obviously... but I definately read up on it quite a bit, people had diagrams and a lot of info about it. now I can't find anything but THERE IS A WAY to disable the system...

Lightbulb

WELL.... lOOKING IN THE CHILTON MANUAL I SEE THAT THERE SHOULD BE A LIGHT BLUE WIRE WITH A SWITCH THAT IS OPEN THEN CLOSED WHEN GROUNDED. THE WIRE DIAGRAM SAYS (PERFORMANCE MODE IN) - PERFORMANCE/TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH. GUESS WHAT??

I DONT HAVE THIS SWITCH!!! BUT i DO HAVE THE TRACTION CONTROL. SO LIKE i SAID!!.... Pontiac came with a performance mode button and z-28's did not.

Now I will go out to my car that is being fixed and has no carpet and find these wires...!!!

As far as I knew the Pontiacs came with a performance button that switched the shiftpoints of the auto transmission and Z-28's didn't get this button because they had the performance shiftpoints by default.

then what diasables this power robbing feature? I am looking at my wire harness... Found one thing I dont know about which is a small black plug that has a green and beige wire going to it up near the front center console area. Also.. there is a random bright pink wire that is going to nothing. Does anyone know???

The "performance" switch controls the A4 shift firmess/RPM. IT has NOTHING..... repeat NOTHING.... to do with traction control. Your car does not have traction control. Live with it.

TCS/ASR on LT1 cars has a big black plastic mess on the drivers side valve cover, and 4 channe; ABS, if you have this box, just unplug the wiring fron the unit on the valve cover, if you don't have this unit, you don't have TCS
