Thinking Of Buying A Camaro
Re: Thinking Of Buying A Camaro
As everyone else has said, welcome to the world of f-bodies. I got my '95 V6 when I was 16. I pay 163$/m insurance liability only. I have had 2 speeding tickets (one was reduced to 9 over, the other was a failure to obey traffic signals or something..) so I'm paying alot. The car was owned by a friend of the family, so it kind of fell on my lap. Before I got it, I had a '96 Ford Escort stationwagon (yeah, I was pimp). I was looking around at Hondas, saying "damn" when I heard a BZZZZZZZZZZ. Now I'm saving my money up for an LS1 TA WS6.
Once you sit in an f-body, I can gaurentee you won't look back. From my own experiences though, I would try to get a V8 instead of wasting your time and money in a V6. Not many people stay content with the 6 and always end up going to the V8. I usually get very good gas milage but my cars in serious need for a tune up and has a clogged to hell cat...but I'm still getting 250-275 to the tank 80% city driving. I hear V8's aren't much different. Mine has also been extremely reliable..nothing has gone wrong on it except regular maintenance..which says alot since its at around 165k. Anyway, just try to find a friend with an fbody and get him to let you drive it...you'll fall in love.

going from a 92 taurus to a v6 f body (while not a v8) will be a dream...way back when i used to drive a 90 taurus. i didnt concider getting a v6 f body when i started looking because i knew i wanted the v8 and buying a v6 would only delay getting the v8 even longer, but if you dont think you even want/need the v8 then go for the v6...gas mileage probalby wont be much different from the taurus you're driving now (3.8L?) and although insurance will be more it will be worth it...if possible just try and get on your parents policy
