Is there any reason to buy a bypass kit?
Re: Is there any reason to buy a bypass kit?
just do it yourself. buy a piece of tubing long enough so the hoses will both mate up to it. the kit is just that. Its just a pre cut section.
It wont even give close to a hp. maybe .25 lbft of torque after the motor is hot compared to having hot coolant in the tb

Double ended hose connector, two screw band hose clamps.
$3.99 at your Mom and Pop Hardware store.
Done.
Just bring a piece of hose with you, or measure it to make sure you get the right sized connector...but I think it may be 3/8"...it has been a while since I've done this though.

I've seen these kits popping up alot, some costing even more then that ebay listing. Its a shame considering there is practically nothing involved other them some hose to do the modification.
Re: Is there any reason to buy a bypass kit?
It cost me a total of zero dollars to do the mod. All I did was take the return hose and send it to where the supply hose came from. I did spend a dollar to get some rubber caps to put on the fittings just to keep anything from getting in there, not that there's a huge chance of that happening anyway.
