Re: T-Top or Hardtop

My last f-body was a hardtop and my current one is t-tops. I like the t-tops more. Never had any leaks or rattles. It's nice to be able to take the t-tops off on a warm, sunny day.

Re: T-Top or Hardtop

I ordered my 2002 SS as a hardtop. I heard that the car
will be a little more rigid...

Re: T-Top or Hardtop

I had a 3rd Gen with T-tops and it leaked even after I put new rubber on. I would never own another T-top car. I just don't need the hassle of leaking crap. Also, people will break a side window just to grab your T-tops! Leaking water ruins your insides, you can't go through car washes, and dates get pissed when water leaks on them in the rain. Are you freaking kidding? Never again!!!!!!

When I went to buy my current Camaro Z28 I made sure it was a hard top. I'm loving it!

I had your same experiences with T-tops when I had my '81 Z28 w/T-tops, but my opinion has done a 180 since then ... I love them in my '02.

Re: T-Top or Hardtop

do you guys when u say lock them do you mean just close the handle down all the way or lock it with the small key in that hole? cause i lost that key and dont know if its worth gettin new ones and how much they cost...
thanks
p.s. if i plan on doin a twin or maybe single turbo 1000hp camaro is ttops a bad choice? even if you make the body more rigid from alot of chassis mods?

Re: T-Top or Hardtop

3rd gen t-tops had lots of problems compared to the 4th gen t-tops.

I've owned two 4th gen t-top cars and never had a leak.
The three 3rd gen cars I owned were all hartops.

When I'm saying lock them just make sure the handle is snug and that it works. You don't need to lock with the key, but that will ensure that people don't steal them or accidentally grab the handle while you're driving. I've had a couple passengers grab at it thinking it was the "Oh S***" bar.

Re: T-Top or Hardtop

Mind came hardtop and I wanted t-tops. So 10 years later and 120k on the clock she finally got them.

Cost @ $250 and did the work myself. No rattles, leaks or problem.s
