Re: steering wheel replacement on a 93'
The air bag it integral with the center cover, and comes off by removing 4 Torx head screws from the back of the steering wheel, and there is a harness connector under the cover/air bag so it can be unplugged and removed. Key item is to disconnect the battery for 20 minutes before you do any work, to discharge the backup power in the DERM module. As a further precaution, you could also disconnect the yellow harness connector for the air bag at the base of the steering column.
After that, its pretty straight forward. There is a "coil" for the air bag wires that needs to come off (spring clip), and then a large nut that holds the wheel to the shaft. Can't recall if you have to pull the wiring harness out of the steering column to get the coil out of the way so the wheel can be pulled. Then pull the wheel off the shaft with a steering wheel puller. Mine came off easilly with a cheap ($6) Grant puller, but others have reported they managed to break heavy duty pullers and couldn't get the wheel off.
I have the original leather covered graphite wheel/with buttons, with air bag from my 94. In excellent condition, if you are interested.
