Post Am I wating my time trying to find a OEM CD player so steering wheel controls work?

I have a 95 Pontiac tape deck with the steering wheel mounted controls. I have been trying to find the factory CD player, but people want an arm and a leg for them. What I am wondering is if the OEM CD player is even guarenteed to work with teh wheel controls? It would really make me mad if it did't...any one know?

Why are you waiting?? do you HAVE to have the factory one??

PAC makes an adapter for any aftermarket car stereo that has a wireless remote so that your steering wheel controls will work with it.

That's just an option.

You have a few options. PAC does make an adapter that will allow you to use your steering wheel controls on aftermarket HU's that have remotes. Their called SWI-X or something along those lines. Check it out at www.go2pac.com

Your other option for a new factory CD player at a discounted price will be at www.radiosandmore.com or you can contact www.speedautomotive.com and see if they have one out of a wrecked '95 TA.

Good luck!

Try out http://www.billygrahamscamaro.com/ he usually has alot of stuff. I just gave a friend my original cd-player, too bad I caught this post too late, I would have sold it to someone for $40 or so. I just figured no one would pay any $$ for it. To be honest though I love having an aftermarket cd player. So much better. Here is my current setup in my 96 WS6 TA:

JVC Kameleon LX30 w/ input jack (connect my iPod to it)
SWI-X to utilize my steering wheel controls
Plus I have a remote that came with the cd player.

Just check out all the cool cd players on Crutchfield or goto best buy. Make sure to buy one that has a remote control. Hooking up the SWI-X takes no more than 30 minutes. E-mail me if you have more questions.
