steering pop

I have a popping noise when I crank the wheel sometimes. 100k and suspension is probably stock. I have orange shocks I know that's not much of a description but is that what came on there stock? They look old. Can anyone give some advice on this noise?

Could be tie rod ends or ball joints or a-arm bushings or loose rack mounting bolts...It will just take some investigative work and use of a helper to isolate it.

Mine does the exact same thing every now and then, and I have a friend with a 95 Z, and his does it too. Seems to be a fairly common problem.

Just fixed my pop noise on my 131,000 mile Z28, noise would only be noticable with weight of car on front end so putting car on jack stands to find noise didnt work. Like shoebox stated, having a friend turn wheel back and forth is a must. My noise was from the rear lower control arm bushings.
