Steering Colum Question

On a Automatic when you take your steering colum off the wiring harness that is plugged to the steering colum one is for the ignition key that has the rod going to it from the lock and Im trying to find out what the other one is for? It has something to do with the cable that goes to the shifter. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Steering Colum Question

There is a cable that goes from the ignition switch to the transmission lever lockout.

That's all. The park/lock cable is what keeps the key from starting the car when it is not in park or neutral.
