How can I repair bad scrape that's rusting on Pacesetter ceramic LT header?
How can I repair bad scrape that's rusting on Pacesetter ceramic LT header?
I bottom out on some very uneven pavement and it looks like almost the entire weight of the car scraped across the bottom of one of my Pacesetter ceramic LT header pipes just before the collecter. It feels like it shaved quite a nice chunk off and it appears to be rusting already (only been on a few weeks). Can anyone give me any advice on what I can do? Is there any way to keept it from rusting or getting worse??
Thanks
Thanks

The expensive and painful option would be to take the headers out, strip them, and have them recoated. An easier way would be to pick up some high-temp header paint or I have even seen Summit sell ceramic coating in a can that can be applied with a paintbrush, and apply that to the scraped area. I touched up a few scrapes on my headers with the aluminum colored high-temp header paint to prevent any future rusting problems. Maybe someone else has a better or easier method though.

I'm liking the way the "ceramic coating in a can" sounds. I can't seem to find in on Summit's site, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right place. If anybody has a link to anywhere online where I could get the stuff, that would be great.
Thanks again,
Robert

It withstands 1800 degrees, it cures WITH heat, and it has stainless steel leafing pigments. You decide. I use it. Did it wrong the first time. Remember it has to air dry for 24 hours BEFORE you start the engine.
