Starting a WS6 that been sitting for 2+ years!

Like the topic states. The car is a 97 WS6 that was parked 2+ years ago and left sitting under the cover. The car was not prep'd for storage, just pulled in the garage, turned off and the cover thrown over it and has remained in the same state!

I will change Batt and Oil.

I figure I can pull the ign. and crank the engine over to prime the oil system. Is there something I can spray into the intake to lube the valves and cylinders or do I need to pull the plugs and fog them?

I don't know why, I just have this gut feeling a ring is going to be rusted to a cylinder wall

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest you pull all the plugs, squirt some oil in there and turn it by hand if possible to make sure that nothing is stuck. After that you can crank it to prime the oil and then fire it up. Also it might not run that good with the gas that is in the tank now, probably stale. Top of the tank with fresh gas or ideally you'd want to drain it, but I know that is not feasible.

I'd suggest disconnecting the fuel line and routing it to a bucket, and then jumpering the fuel pump so it pumps out all the crappy stale gas.

id definately try turning it over by hand before cranking it via the starter.

Good suggestions in this thread. On top of that, your injectors may have rusted inside, preventing them from pumping fuel, so if it doesn't start, that is the first thing I'd check.

John is thinking about helping BigShow get the car started... again. He's getting an idea on what should / needs to be done before "firin' it up". Trying to avoid any catastrophic blow up or damage to the "precious" car. The garage that the car has been in is not climate controlled and I wouldn't be surprised if there are critters living inside....

Man I wish it was mine!!! He is moving so the car has to get running so we can load it on the transport. I really hope hislack of attention on this pristine car hasn't ruined it! (I think the milage is only 942.)
