speedo issues....urghhh

So My 93 has one issue. The speedo shows I'm going 10-40 mph when I'm standing still. Weather the caris in park or in gear the speedo registers a speed while not moving. Now I've already tried the speed sensor, and even a cluster. Unfortunately neither of these have cured the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

I've been tempted to put my hand through the damn dash! I've been so agitated with this as of late, the biggest thing is it just keeps racking up some miles and I'd like to keep it low as it is.

If replacing the VSS and the cluster didn't solve the problem, it has to be a wiring problem. The 93 is a bit different than the 94 and newer models... I believe the VSS connects to both the ECM and the speedo. Something may be inducing a pulse signal similar to the pulses from the VSS.

the vss sends the signal to the ecm then to the dash from there....My only guess from here is a ground, the question is which one??? I was hoping that someone has had a similar problem, but I guess it's not a common thing....I guess I'll just start by checking every ground I have...As a side note, the battery must be getting old, since the voltage gauge starts out up around 16 volts, then after driving awhile drops back down to 14....urgh I love the first model year cars
