Spark Plug Stripped

Ok what can you do to a aluminum head? I cant believe I did this but when putting number 5 in it somehow got crooked and screwed up the threads. I got it to line up as close as possible in comparison to the other plugs angle wise but of course it was tight going in. What are my options, can I helicoil it with the head still on or does it have to be jerked off because of shavings? Will this cause any firing issues also?

kd-tool makes a tap that expands and cuts from the inside-out, but i don't have any experience with it.

i'd pull the head as well.

I would pull the head, the last thing you need is to finish fixing the threads and then find out that you lost compression in that cyl.

I read a post of a guy that used that tool. Worked for him. I have seen it in a NAPA flyer. Not cheap, but if you can get to the plug hole, less work than pulling a head.
