Soon to be Owner

So I am new to the Camaro's, actually new to Chevy cars to be more precise. I am most likely buying a 1994 Camaro z28 Convertible from a friends friend. All I know is has 400 plus hp and that it is in great shape and has been well taken care of. Other than it is green, with tan soft top. What I am wondering is if I can change it from a soft top to a hard top or even a T-top if have to and would it be cheap or would I be putting down a lot of money?

He says this is what it looks like exactly!

I don't know that anyone has ever attempted to make convertible into a hard top. It would take a boat load of money if you could even find someone that might do it. Not viable, IMHO.
If you don't want a convertible, don't buy one.
BTW, it would need considerable engine mods to be 400+ hP.

You should find out the engine mods and let use know the price. That way you don't get less than you paid for. Everyone says they have a 400+ hp car but many are no way close. They take a 250 HP engine and say with a 150 shot it will be 400+.

Alright so I went and check out the car today. Looks exactly the same. He wants 4500 for it. All I know is that it is a LS1, Chipped, Cold air intake, brand new rotors, brand new auto transmission which I was disappointed to find out it was automatic but I can live with it. There was something else done to the engine but I can't remember what he said was done. The car was owned by his Mother, she recently passed away and is just wanting to get rid of it. The son says it is around 350 hp. I drove it, it's got really good response. Great handling. But that's about all I have for now. What do you all think, good deal for this?

A '94 has an LT1 and is rated around 275hp. Has he swapped in an LS1?
It's not hard to tell the difference between the 2 engines, they look very different, just google image search LT1 and LS1 so you can make sure.

Inspect the top closely as they are about $1000 to replace. I just replaced my top myself and it cost $600 for it.
If you don't want a convertible top, DON'T get one! In owning one you must be prepared to make many tradeoffs of practicality for having a roof that folds down.
