sometimes my alarm only beeps once instead of twice>

I've owned this car 2 1/2 years and I think this is only recient.

I'll get out- shut the doors, (hatch is latched) and the lights only flash once and the horn only churps once.

Normally the horn churps twice and the lights flash.

I've gone around making sure all the doors are shut and the hatch is slamed shut but it makes no difference.

Also, it seems to happen more when the windows are down and the T tops are off, I didnt think their was a sensor for the windows, is their?

no there is no sensor for the windows. My car does the same thing occasionally but it seems to be during or after rain. It bothers me because I am use to the two beeps but I have gotten use to it now that it has happened before. Good luck trying to nail the problem.

Same here...no particular pattern! If it really bothers you, try unhooking the battery...that may reset something.

Mine does that sometimes if i mess with the carpet by the back hatch. the hatch may secure down fine, but you gotta make sure the carpet is over the latch correctly. Mess with that a bit and see if it works

only time mine beeps once is when a door/the hatch is not closed.

Um... If you had read fully you would have know seen that I DID check that everything was closed and latched.

It happeded again today so I started to play some more, I opened the hatch and messed with the carpet that overlaps the latch and ta da! it's fixed!

I only ever open the hatch to stow the T tops, but from now on I'll look at the carpet some more. I think when my mechanic installed my shocks he may have messed it up some.

Same here, it does it randomly. You can check your owner's manual, there's a section about setting your alarm to different configs: lights only, horn only, lights and horn, etc. Maybe you accidently changed the settings.

I don't think it's related to any sensors. When mine does that, it usually goes back to its normal 2 horns and a blink.

It does that if the car is already locked as well. So if you hit the lock button, accidentally or on purpose, before you get out of the car, when you lock it again with the remote it will only beep once.

Maybe you can change the settings by checking out the manual as said above. Also, what may be happening is this: if you push the lock button on the remote with a door opened, then close that door which the keys are out of the ignition, the horn chirps twice. If you close the doors, have key out of ignition, and hit the lock key - the horn makes no noise, but you can hear the doors lock. If you press the lock button once again after that, the horn will chirp once to assure you the doors are locked. If you dont use the remote and set the alarm with the automatic door lock switch in the car, the parking lights, and fogs if on, will flash to let you know the alarm has been set (no horn chirp).

Maybe whats happening to you is you sometimes hit lock when the doors are closed, and sometimes while the doors are open (before being closed) and the # of chirps you hear is different.
