slp ram airbox question
Re: slp ram airbox question
The SLP online catalog shows the same part number for both the Ultra-Z and the Ram Air HO airboxes, and indicates it works with both hoods:
http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=100008
The SLP airbox is dimensionally identical to the stock WS6 airbox, lacking only the "Pontiac" and "Ram Air" logos, and does not come with the pre-molded gasket for the lid. They include some sticky-tape weatherstripping instead.
I've compared my SLP box to a genuine WS6 box, side by side, and they are identical, except as noted above.

I have pictures, but the server that they are on is down for some reason.
Do you want a picture of the inside of the hood near the scoop? I can e-mail you that if you do.
I know the box on my car sits a bit high, because of the Griffin radiator. We had to cut a bit off the bottom of the plastic upper radiator support bracket, then screw the bracket directly to the top of the radiator. Even with that, I have the seal strips on the hood, and they just contact the top of the box when the hood closes.

Re: slp ram airbox question
This is kinda unrelated to your posts, but I have an SLP airbox in my SS and it rubs against the bottom of the hood. I wonder if they just made them a tad too high cuz my stock one didn't rub.
