SLP Loudmouth II catback question

is the loudmouth 2 a quieter exhaust then the loudmouth 1? or is it just different im thinking of getting it i have a 96 trans am lt1, all stock besides k&N ram air and hypertech 160 tstat, does the loudmouth 2 sound good on lt1s? i have the magnaflow muffler on there now sounds good but i like it louder and as far as headers that wont be till next spring in which case ill put glasspacks or a muffler to help the raspyness and ill prob be running cats thanks guys

Re: SLP Loudmouth II catback question

It's the same setup as the Loudmouth 1 system, the only difference is with the Loudmouth 2 you get a race muffer which appearance wise is identical to the resonator (which is found on the Loudmouth 1). The end result is the LM2 is quieter than the LM1.

I have the LM2 with the stock manifolds, and cats (and also replaced the Y-Pipe with one from SLP) on my car and it sounds quiet at crusing speeds, but at WOT - it screams!!

Re: SLP Loudmouth II catback question

i just bought the SLP Loudmouth 1...basically if you want a louder exhaust at idle, cruise speed, and WOT..then go with the Loudmouth 1...Loudmouth 2 is still really nice and loud at WOT, but at idle and cruise speed you'll find it to be significantly quieter than the Loudmouth 1...kind of a compromise between quieter performance exhaust for daily driving and loud/meaner race exhaust when flying lol

Re: SLP Loudmouth II catback question

check it out on www.ls1sounds.com
they should have it on there...i dont have any first hand experience or exposure to that exact setup, however the LM1 with pacesetter LT's and ORY sounds sweet

Re: SLP Loudmouth II catback question

Yes, I now see it says Magnaflow muffler and not catback.

But as for the LM. If you run version II and its too loud, try a twister muffler. I've got one in the I of my Borla so it isn't raspy while open. Its suprisingly mild inside but sounds nice outside. I'm sure it would be the same with a LM.
