Siphoning out gas.

Is there an easy way to siphon gas out of the tank?

I can't seem to get a hose down the filler neck, i guess there are too many bends, or possibly some kind of safety/security device.

Disconnect one of the fuel lines under the car and suck it out? If so which lines.

how much gas do you need out of the tank? Like completly empty or just enough to make it managable?

Well i would like to get as much out as possible. I have year old gas in there, and i can't run the car to burn it. So i want to get the old stuff out before it gets too cold and it has to sit in there for another winter.

Disconnect the line at the fuel filter and use the fuel pump prime connector to run the pump to pump out the gas.

If you are persistant, you can get the siphon hose all the way down into the tank, and get most of the fuel out. I have done it several times.

Stick the hose in the hole, place hose in mouth and suck till you get a mouth full. Drop hose in bucket and don't forget to spit. It will work.

Ya i've tried to get the hose down there, but it seems to get jammed on something not too far down.

Thanks for the ideas all.
