Shift Light for a Delteq-equipped LT1?

After talking out from the fabricator, turns out he can't fit all 6 aftermarket gauges in the place of the older gauge cluster, so the best he can do is 4 or 5. Because of this, I came up with the idea to have a mini shift light (Auto Meter #ATM-5330) mounted IN the custom gauge panel, between the Tachometer & Speedometer. According to the shift light, I have to purchase a RPM-activated switch, but the one offered by Auto Meter is for a Capacitive Discharge ignition (that's a distributor, right?). Well, I'm running a Delteq DIS, so what do I use?? Would this work with the shift light, even though it's MSD?

If you're still running the stock PCM, you have the Opti feeding it. It will still be producing the RPM signal for the tach.

Could I get away with one that has a built-in RPM reader, like this:

Auto Meter's Pro-Shift shift lights will let you know when it's time to shift, without your having to take your eyes off of the road or track. They work with a plug-in rpm "pill" or module for rpm selection, and activate the bright amber light when engine rpm reaches the pill rpm. The shift lights also feature low-current circuitry that is ideal for battery operation, and advanced microcircuitry that can trigger your shift point without a tachometer.
It's a little bigger than I wanted, but it's overall a cheaper unit than buying the other shift light AND RPM-activated switch. Are the shift lights that require RPM-activated switches better in terms of accuracy?

Also, when I go to an aftermarket PCM (Megasquirt, Accel DFI, FAST, BigStuff-3), will this shift light setup still work? I'm not really sure on the mechanics of the whole thing...

Anyone? Does anyone know whether or not I can run an RPM-activated switch designed for a capacitive discharge system if I plan to continue running the Delteq setup AFTER I eventually upgrade to an aftermarket EMS, like FAST or BigStuff-3???
