Cool Shift **** removal???

I need some help. I'm just getting back into the car scene, and I don't know how to remove the shift **** on my 2000 Z28 six speed. I'd like to put on a carbon fiber one.
Thanks:

It unscrews, counter-clockwise to remove. 16mm threads.

Smile Shift ****

thanks, it's been awhile since I've messed with cars. I guess I need to twist it harder.

Nut

Make sure you don't have a check nut underneath the shifter. If you do turn it clockwise then your shifter **** counter clockwise. Best of luck!
