Serpetine belt length for 1994 Z-28
I'm going to by-pass my air due to problems with the compressor and was told all I need is the correct length for the belt without putting it around the ac and wondered if anyone else has done this and if so does anyone know the correct length or the right belt number I would need??? Thanks in advance!!!!

Okay the guy at Advance Auto part's said all I needed to do was take a string and measure with going around the AC compressor, thanks for letting me know!!! The car when I bought it was making a noise and I thought it was the belt tensioner or a idler pulley till I check it out last weekend and the front of the clutch face that is pressed in came apart and is making the noise!!! If I have to pull the compressor to do that then I will just put it back on. I just not sure how that all comes out??? Not much room and it looks like it would have to come out from the bottom???

serpetine belts are not measured like the old style v belts you may get lucky and find one with the string measure method but your best bet would be to get a bypass pully there cheap and you keep the factory size belt

if you bypass the ac pulley your belt tensioner won't be able to work like it needs to. it kinda needs that downward pull to the tensioner so it can work right. like everyone has been saying, use a bypass pulley to get the fix you need without the price of a new ac.
