I just bought my z28 2 days ago. It appears they disabled the VAC system . The keys i got are copies .. And they dont have the VAc chip on the key like on my previous camaro. Is there any way I can enable it and get a original copy?

Providing the VIN to a dealer might work if the car has the original VATS module. Of course this does not guarantee that the VATS will work when you get the right key. The dealer (or a good locksmith) does have a way to find out what key you need by using a special device (interrogator) attached to the car.
The previous owner may have bypassed the VATS because the key cylinder was faulty or they had an aftermarket alarm or remote start installed.
