ok, so i get in my car after work, try to crank it up, security light comes on and starter shuts off... i wait 3 min for light to go off, crank and it works fine.


1 week later...

i go to my g/fs house, get in the car and now the light comes on and starts blinking... and the red light on the defroster vent is flashing faster then it does normally, theres not a lot of delay..

anyone know what would cause this? is it the key or something wrong with the car? (i tried 2 keys in the second incident).

 

sounds like the "classic VATS problems...dont see any sig info on what car you have tho...
See shoeboxes web site for VATS over ride & permanant fix info. Do your self a favor & at least get the resistors you need to override it....it sounds like your ignition cylinder VATS contact wire is hanging by a strand of wire, about to let go & then she wont start at all.....
