scanmaster placement

well, im getting a scan master for my LT1. I want to put it where i don't really have to look down at it, but the only place ive ever seen it mounted is the right upper vent. I like that vent because it blows more air than the left upper vent, would it be possible to mount it in the left upper vent?
Otherwise I am going to make a cover for the cubby and mount it there at an upwards angle probably

Mine is stuck on top of the steering column with Velcro.

I've also seen it in a hole cut in the instrument panel surround on a Firebird.

I mounted mine in the left upper vent; works well with my gauges mounted on the A pillar. I removed the Scanmaster from its housing in order to fit it in the vent area.

obe1 - do you have pictures?
I am doing a blower setup, and am going to have my a-pillar guages for boost pressure and a few others on the a-pillar, so it'd be nice to have all my guages in one area

Looks the same as the this photo from Brett's site http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/fbody/scanmaster.htm, only on the other side.
